JAK's Cactus Ranch was founded by JanThomas, Angel Rose, and Karla Russell in 2000. The intention was to create a refuge for rescued native plants and cactus from building sites, road construction and human environmental disregard.
Among the native rescued plants and cacti, Angel who is the primary caretaker has added many purchased nonnative cacti to the collection. The Cactus ranch has transformed into it's own unique little microcosm filled with 8 varieties of prickly pear, 4 varieties of cholla, 11 varieties of hedgehogs and numerous other types of cacti, agaves and other native plants.
JAK’s Cactus Ranch is open to the public oonce a year or by appointment only.
